BEHIND the FREE tract: "A free gift tract"
What was the idea behind the tract "A free gift tract"?

BEHIND the FREE tract: "A free gift tract"

Brief description:
A small business card sized Christian tract. On 250gsm light card. 85mm x 55mm size. Ideal for the wallet. Ideal to hand to people or leave in places: Place it in a birthday or Christmas card. Include it in correspondence.

I wanted to create a tract that met two purposes.

Number one - size. Until this point we had only one tract that was small enough to send worldwide. Postage from the UK to any country outside is expensive. So a small light weight card was the best option. The black and white "HAVE YOU HEARD THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST?" tract had met this need for years. This new card however was a welcome addition that would encourage any person to take a look. I mean who would not want a "Free Gift"? It was created at the same time as the THANK YOU TRACT

Number  two - Something that was universal and appealing. Who would'nt want a free gift? I appreciate most people don't however want the Gospel. But the reality is, it REALLY is a completely FREE gift. It would be easy to put this tract almost anywhere and instantly convey what it is.

You can download and print the tract here: A FREE GIFT TRACT

Here is the wording:

This is an offer to you of a completely FREE gift, but not all will receive it. I care for you as a fellow human being and hope you will take this message seriously. Like me, you will one day stand before God to give an account for your life. Because God is righteous, He will judge you according to His law. You have broken God’s Law (unbelief, lying, stealing, hate, lust, selfishness, blasphemy, getting drunk etc.). He will punish your sin: thoughts, words & deeds. The consequence being eternity in Hell. I don’t want that for you - there is good news: Turn from your sin unto God & by faith alone, receive Jesus Christ as your Lord & Saviour. Jesus Christ—fully God & fully man, yet without sin, voluntarily shed His innocent blood. He died on the cross, taking upon Himself the punishment you rightly deserve for your sins against God. 3 days later, He forever defeated sin and death when He rose from the grave. “The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” “Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Receive this Gift of forgiveness & eternal life: Repent & believe the Gospel today.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

I hope that this tract reaches many people as a brief introduction to Christ. Please could you share with us any stories you have relating to this specific tract.

I personally have found the tract useful to leave in various places such as: at bus stops, randomly handing to people, place inside cards or packages. They are a helpful back up for when you run out of the THANK YOU TRACT to hand to people at shops, restaurants, bus drivers (give the free gift card if you have already given the driver a "Thank you tract"). There are many other ways of using this tract - how do you use yours?
